We start the OPGA with a practice round. Boz and Bill picked Turnbery as the site for this years practice round.
Some memories to share :
- No cart girl so get your beer before teeing off or at the turn.
- Never be late to your tee time - Not a good look. We had a member of the 4 some in front of us drive right on through as we were teeing off.
- Bring your own water cup - Save $.25
- Chad has been reborn into the game of golf, credited to the special someone he met.
- Kids in front were slow and irritating Chad (maybe everyone but particularly Chad). One kid was playing the tips and threw his club into the weeds after every tee shot (recommend he play from the red tees).
- Chad had a 1 putt chip in (Yep that means he putted off the green and then chipped it in from there)
- Shawn struggles getting off the tee but somehow recovers and plays decent.
Some memories from the first night:
- Played poker, Chad slow played early but then when the timing was right pounced. Chad and Dave chopped. Brian took third. Dave still thinks he won.
- Dave almost fell through Bosker's window.
- Chad saved Dave from hurting himself in a chair on the deck. Dave leaned back and fell straight backward and Chad did the one handed HERO save to get Dave rebalanced.
- Dave talks to himself while doing his business (wakes Chad).
Official Day 1 of the OPGA Event
The Virtues is the course. Love the course. It is tough but fair.
Memories:
- Shawn figures out his driving issues. Plays well to post the low round of the day.
- Shawn has a legit birdie opportunity on 6 straight holes but only makes 3. One that he missed was a 2.5 footer breaking 10 inches.
- Chad and Dave have a 5-5-5 bet where Dave took the front by 2 and Chad came storming back to win the back by 4 taking the overall.
- It was by far the hottest and most humid day we were going to have. Shawn was leaking all day.
Day 2 - Clover Valley
- The course was in bad shape.
- Shawn has a very poor driving day but salvages a decent score.
- Brian plays well and has the low round of the day.
